A Welcome to Old Colonial Antiques - an exclusive store with a passion for style! Old Colonial Antiques was initially the joint vision of proprietors, Dee Martyn & Suzy Rees, and has traded from St. John's Road in Tunbridge Wells from 1995 to 2008 but is now run from home. 

With Dee's experience as a highly regarded London stylist and Suzy's background as an innovative advertising art director, they combined their artistic flair and imagination and created their dream shop! Sarah Taylor joined the "dynamic duo" in 1996 following a career as a linguist in the Big City, bringing a wealth of organisational talent and secretarial skills to the team, as well as speaking French to the odd customer! Sarah is also passionate about interiors which, of course, is an essential ingredient at Old Colonial Antiques!

Following the untimely passing of our dearest Suzy in October 2004, we have put all our efforts into continuing to build the business and, with the help of close family and friends and the on-going support of our wonderful customers, the shop is a true legacy to our special and talented partner and friend. Suzy lives on in Old Colonial Antiques.

We offer something very special at Old Colonial Antiques and we continue to serve a large, diverse and loyal client base from home and abroad, and we pride ourselves on our friendly approach to helping you find exactly what you are looking for.

We offer an eclectic mix of English, French and Swedish antique painted furniture and decorative accessories, including mirrors, continental table lamps, faux flowers, antique French monogrammed linen, glassware, vintage chinaware, French enamelware, basketware,toleware (Victorian hat tins and flour bins ), metalware, wirework, decoy birds, wooden games boards and faux bamboo (mirrors and coat hooks). 

We also stock a seasonal range of Votivo scented candles and soaps, organic Natural Magic aromatherapy candles, lavender and rose scented keepsakes, spicy and floral pot pourri mixtures made to our own "recipe", French Provencal soaps and a wonderful selection of handcrafted cards for every occasion. In 2005 we introduced a unique range of handmade designer jewellery, turned wooden and linen scarves, crewelwork pashminas, leather handbags, felt bags, weekend and tote bags and jewelled make-up bags.

We are also pleased to offer a comprehensive range of Crucial Trading natural flooring (seagrass/coir/sisal/wool) and Chelsea Textiles beautifully recreated antique fabrics. Please feel free to come and browse through the many sample books. Finally, we offer an exclusive home styling and design service, including the sourcing of specific furniture to suit your requirements.
