Chinaware
We
offer an interesting selection of vintage white chinaware in perfect
condition, including highly collectable English jelly moulds (Shelley,
Copeland and others) of differing shapes and sizes, French and English
banded dairy jugs, French "soupieres", sauce boats and slop pails.
Occasionally, we are most fortunate to find white china "Cream" jars,
"Pure Butter" and "Margarine" slabs which, historically, were found in
grocers' stores for countertop display. We also offer antique creamware plates (ribbon and plain) and Corinthian column candlesticks.
As all our china
is in mint condition, enjoy using the jelly moulds for creating wonderful
milk and fruit jellies. Likewise, serve your milk, cream and
homemade lemonade in our classic dairy jugs,
and fill soupieres with wholesome soups or with homegrown fruit,
vegetables or salad leaves. Butter and margarine slabs are
ideal for displaying and serving cheese or fresh fruit. Let the
timeless elegance of white china enhance your kitchen or dining room,
creating an impressive but simple collection when grouped together on an
antique dresser.
To complement our
vintage collection of chinaware, we are pleased to offer new cream
tableware from Hartley Greens & Co.'s "Hunslet" range. Originally
intended as purely utilitarian objects, the simple lines of these jugs and
bowls, nonetheless, have an elegance of their own, revealing without the
distraction of any decoration, the full beauty of the cream glazed clay
used in this collection.
